Local tales - Beckfoot Lane, Bingley

The bottom of Beck foot Lane
In the early 1990's a local walker was making his way up Beck foot Lane and just before he reached the old bridge over the river Aire. He noticed a man on horseback by the side of the road who appeared to be dressed in clothes that resembled that of the Tudor period. He thought that he was an actor who was being filmed for a tv programme or something; he didn't speak to him and continued past him up the hill. The walker thought it strange that there was no film crew about, he didn't turn round again and suddenly it dawned on him that he may have actually seen a ghost. A few years later he was out with a friend who was from the area and he told them about what he had seen, the friend replied 'Oh, have you seen him too?' The man is still wondering who this figure was and continues to ask around'.
