Lauriston Castle, Edinburgh

Name: Lauriston Castle
Locality: Edinburgh EH4 6AE
Built: 1590
Owner: City of Edinburgh
Grade A
Website: Official

Lauriston Castle was a couple of minutes drive away from where we were staying. It is an imposing building with towers and turrets straight out of an Edwardian fairy tale and dates as far back as the 16th century. The building wasn't that far away from a housing estate and my other half decided he would protect the car by staying with it  'just in case' while he left his wife to wander around a haunted house alone?

It is documented that in 1926 someone had heard ghostly footsteps in the house.

Mary King's ghost fest events have taken places here.

Location: Edinburgh - Lauriston Castle (aka Lauriston House), 2a Cramond Road
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1926 onwards
Further Comments: This entity creates the sound of footsteps moving quickly around the building. The sound is thought to be made by a former butler.
